Our Challenge:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Ab Initio Developer to join our data engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance ETL solutions using Ab Initio. You will work closely with data architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure data is efficiently processed, transformed, and delivered across systems.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte, NC is $110k - $120k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop scalable ETL solutions using Ab Initio (GDE, EME, Conduct> IT, etc.)
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Optimize data processing workflows for performance and reliability.
  • Perform unit testing, integration testing, and support UAT.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data quality and integrity.
  • Maintain and enhance existing Ab Initio applications and workflows.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data and ETL issues in a timely manner.
  • Document technical designs, processes, and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience with Ab Initio tools (GDE, EME, Conduct> IT, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL best practices.
  • Proficiency in SQL and working with relational databases (Oracle, Teradata, etc.)
  • Experience with performance tuning and large-scale data processing.
  • Familiarity with Unix/Linux shell scripting.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred, but not required:

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and data migration.
  • Knowledge of data governance and data security practices.
  • Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Experience with other ETL tools or big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) is a plus.
