Job Description:  LACHIN Architects, apc is seeking a talented Architect to join our team serving clients across the Gulf South. This role is ideal for a licensed architect who enjoys hands-on design, problem-solving, and guiding projects from early concepts through construction. The architect will work closely with the entire project team to ensure timely project completion, within budget, and in accordance with LACHIN Architects' quality and client service standards. Additional job responsibilities may be assigned, including marketing, business development, bidding and negotiation, and writing proposals and presentations. The total compensation package includes a competitive salary, health insurance, paid time off, and 401K plan. This position offers ample opportunity for growth within the company. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture
  • Current architectural license
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an architecture office
  • Experience across all phases of design and construction
  • Strong skills in detailing, building systems, and consultant coordination
  • Knowledge of Louisiana permitting processes
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and within a team

Responsibilities:

General:

  • Maintain firm standards for file organization and information management
  • Support firm-wide efforts including marketing, proposals, and occasional internal initiatives
  • Stay current on new materials, products, codes, and industry practices
  • Promote a positive, collaborative work environment and contribute to team growth
  • Keep staff and management informed of issues or opportunities that may impact business operations, clients, projects, or jobs.
  • Architects may be expected to support the office in non-architectural activities such as IT, continuing education, information management, social functions, social media, etc.

Architecture:

  • Develop project programs and early design concepts with clients and internal teams
  • Produce drawings and documents across all phases including Schematic Design, Design Development, and Construction Documents
  • Prepare presentations and communicate design ideas clearly to clients and stakeholders
  • Manage design process for entire project and coordinate with engineers, consultants, and contractors to deliver accurate, buildable documents
  • Participate in QA/QC reviews to refine detailing, technical accuracy, and clarity
  • Keep projects moving forward by addressing issues and making decisions in a timely manner.
  • Support construction administration by reviewing submittals, RFIs, pay applications, and field conditions
  • Communicate proactively with clients and contractors to keep projects moving and resolve issues promptly
