Cybersecurity Mid-Level Associate

A leading law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of experience to join its Data Protection & Cybersecurity team.

This position involves advising on privacy and cybersecurity matters , including data breach response, regulatory investigations, and compliance with evolving legal frameworks. The ideal candidate will have experience counseling clients on state, federal, and international data security laws , managing complex incident response matters, and defending against regulatory scrutiny related to privacy and security.

Key Responsibilities:

• Advise businesses on proactive and reactive data protection strategies
• Assist with regulatory compliance, breach response, and investigations
• Work closely with clients to navigate evolving privacy and security obligations
• Collaborate with technical teams to assess and mitigate cybersecurity risks

Ideal Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of experience in privacy law, cybersecurity breach response, or data breach litigation (law firm or in-house)
• Strong project management skills and ability to handle fast-moving, high-stakes matters
• Knowledge of U.S. and international data security and privacy regulations
• Excellent writing, communication, and analytical skills
• A J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and bar admission in the relevant jurisdiction

Additional Details:

• Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance to one of the listed office locations to enable in-person collaboration as needed.
• Salary range: $130,000 - $230,000 , depending on location, experience, and qualifications.
