About the Role

Possess proficient computer skills (e.g., MS Word, Excel, ICD-9-CM, CPT-4, Encoder). Apply knowledge of coding guidelines, payor guidelines, and federal billing regulations. Demonstrate understanding of anatomy, physiology, and disease processes.

Responsibilities

• Research and resolve coding-related issues as needed.
• Provide coder training
• Serve as a resource for coding staff.
• Utilize 3M/HDS coding applications effectively.
• Perform coding for both outpatient and emergency department (ED) cases.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED, AHIMA, RHIA or RHIT and/or CCP, CCS.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience.
• Proficient in ICD-10 coding.
• Experience with EPIC and 3M systems is required.
• Candidate with both in/out-patient coding experience will be ideal.
