Job Summary

The Clinical Educator - Nursing is responsible for unit/department-based clinical orientation and in-service training for new and current clinical Associates. This role involves assessing, planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs to enhance the performance and professional development of clinical staff. The ideal candidate will model the values and mission of MLH while fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Orientation: Coordinate individualized orientation plans for new clinical Associates, ensuring competency and alignment with policies and procedures.
• In-Service Training: Develop and implement standardized learning activities to meet the needs of clinical staff at all levels.
• Role Model: Serve as a change agent to promote professional and technical development among Associates.
• Consultation: Provide expert guidance to internal and external stakeholders on clinical education and training needs.
• Research Integration: Incorporate evidence-based research and best practices into educational programs.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or Allied Health field.
• At least 3 years of general clinical experience.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse or Allied Health Professional.
• BLS certification (required for new hires/transfers as of June 1, 2018).

Preferred:

• Master’s Degree in Nursing or Allied Health.
• 3+ years of teaching experience.
• National specialty certification in nursing, allied health, or professional development.

Skills & Abilities:

• Strong clinical knowledge and expertise.
• Proficiency in adult learning principles and teaching techniques.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Physical Requirements

• Medium work: Exerting up to 50 lbs. occasionally and 25 lbs. frequently.
• Frequent patient contact and exposure to body fluids/hazardous materials.
• Ability to travel outside the hospital as needed.
