One of the nation's largest retail brands is seeking a Designer to join their Color Department onsite in Tribeca , New York, NY. This contract role will support multiple product lines and collaboration teams in creating and executing seasonal color palettes while also maintaining and updating the organization’s Color Library. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong color management skills and a sharp eye for detail to make a visible impact on seasonal collections distributed worldwide.

In this initial 3-month W2 contract, you’ll collaborate with designers, product teams, and global partners to ensure consistent and high-quality color execution. Contract Duration: 3–6 Months (with potential to extend)

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong organizational skills with ability to manage swatch libraries.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and spreadsheets.
• Basic knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, including digital swatch creation.
• Proven color acuity, with a Superior Discrimination score on the Farnsworth-Munsell Hue 100 test .
• Hands-on experience with IQC color software and spectrophotometers.
• Detail-oriented with exceptional accuracy.

Desired Skills & Experience

• Familiarity with digital collaboration platforms (e.g., Miro , PLM systems).
• Experience advising CAD and product development teams on lab dips, strike-offs, and calibration.
• Ability to provide Pantone matches and maintain large-scale color archives.

What You Will Be Doing

• Partner with design teams to develop and finalize seasonal color palettes (70–120 colors).
• Translate retail inspiration samples into digital palettes.
• Distribute palettes to internal teams and external vendors, mills, and factories.
• Manage the Color Library inventory, archive updates, and color wall.
• Oversee digital color management processes, leveraging IQC software and spectrophotometer data.
• Upload seasonal palettes into the PLM system.
• Advise on lab dip comments, strike-off reviews, and CAD calibration as needed.
