Director of Human Resources

$150,000 - $175,000 + bonus

Birmingham, AL

Our client is seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Human Resources to lead their HR department and drive their people-centric initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned HR professional with a proven track record of developing and implementing effective HR strategies that align with their business objectives. As the Director of Human Resources, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, and compliance.   • Job Duties: Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives that support the company's overall business goals.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the executive team on all HR-related matters.
  • Lead and mentor the HR team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the full-cycle recruitment process, ensuring a positive candidate experience.
  • Develop and implement effective onboarding and retention programs.
  • Implement talent management strategies to identify and develop high-potential employees.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and managers on employee relations issues.
  • Develop and implement employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Manage and resolve employee grievances and disciplinary actions.
  • Develop and administer competitive compensation and benefits programs.
  • Conduct market analysis to ensure compensation and benefits are aligned with industry standards.
  • Manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks.
  • Develop and implement performance management systems to drive employee performance and development.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers on performance management processes.
  • Facilitate training related to performance management.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures.
  • Manage HR-related risk and ensure data privacy and security.
  • Identify Training needs and implement programs to fill those needs.
  • Oversee employee professional development.

  • Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • 6 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement effective HR strategies and programs.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in HRIS systems.
