Forensic Architect

We are hiring a Forensic Architect! This role offers a unique opportunity to apply architecture design expertise in building envelope assessments, construction defect analysis, and failure investigations for a diverse range of projects.

What You’ll Do:

  • Conduct forensic investigations of building failures, including structural deficiencies, water intrusion, material failures, and code compliance issues.
  • Perform on-site evaluations, document findings, and prepare detailed forensic reports.
  • Analyze architectural and construction documents to assess compliance with standards and best practices.
  • Work closely with engineers, contractors, attorneys, and insurance professionals to provide expert insights and recommendations.
  • Develop and present remediation strategies, repair solutions, and cost estimates.
  • Provide litigation support and expert testimony when necessary.
  • Stay current with industry advancements in building materials, forensic techniques, and code requirements.

About You:

  • Licensed Architect (AIA) in Minnesota. Other states a plus
  • 10+ years of experience with a wide range of buildings preferred
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, building envelope systems, waterproofing, and structural design
  • Experience with building codes, ADA compliance, and construction litigation support is a plus
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in diagnosing building performance issues
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and forensic analysis tools
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for technical reporting and client interactions
  • Ability to travel for site investigations and client meetings as needed
