Director of Human Resources

Job Scope

The Director of Human Resources (HR) will lead and supervise all HR functions within the manufacturing sector of our organization. This strategic role involves the design and implementation of HR initiatives that align with business goals, enhance workforce engagement, and drive operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of HR best practices in the manufacturing industry, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compliance, payroll, and benefits administration. The HR Director will build strategic relationships with internal and external business partners globally and represent the company in developing and leading organizational strategies including execution meeting all regulatory requirements.

Strategic Leadership

- Collaborate with executive leadership to define and implement HR strategies that support the company's mission and objectives.

- Provide guidance and advice to senior management on HR issues, policies, and best practices within the manufacturing sector.

Talent Management

- Oversee the recruitment process to attract, retain, and develop top talent in manufacturing roles.

- Develop and implement workforce planning strategies to ensure that the organization has the right talent in place to meet production demands.

  • Audit and improve systems for onboarding to ensure consistent execution to standard for best retention and Employee engagement

Employee Relations

- Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture through effective employee engagement initiatives and conflict resolution strategies.

- Serve as a trusted advisor and point of contact for employee concerns, ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies.

  • Develop and lead Employee climate surveys and feedback systems

Training and Development

- Design and oversee training and development programs that enhance employee skills and support career progression within the manufacturing environment.

- Implement performance management systems that align with production goals and encourage continuous improvement.

  • Oversee global resource management programs to support business capability needs.

Compensation and Benefits

- Develop competitive compensation and benefits plans tailored to the needs of the manufacturing workforce.

- Conduct regular market research to ensure salary structures remain competitive and compliant.

Regulatory Compliance

- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations.

- Maintain and update HR policies and procedures to ensure alignment with legal requirements and industry standards.

HR Metrics and Reporting

- Establish and monitor key HR metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of HR initiatives and the overall health of the workforce.

- Prepare regular reports for executive management on HR activities, workforce trends, and strategic recommendations.

Qualifications

- A Master’s degree or equivalent in Human Resources

- A minimum of 8-12 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 8 years in a managerial or leadership role within the manufacturing industry.

- Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and best practices in HR management, particularly within manufacturing environments.

- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.

- Demonstrated ability to lead change and effectively manage organizational development.

- Proficiency in HR software and tools, with strong analytical and reporting capabilities.

- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification is a plus.
