Job Description

Summary

The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations to ensure efficient, timely, and cost-effective production. This role leads production teams to meet quality, safety, and productivity targets while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. In addition to managing production workflows, the Production Manager oversees plant maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and operational uptime. The role also includes planning and executing small capital projects, coordinating with cross-functional teams to enhance plant capabilities and support business growth.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide positive leadership, guidance, support, and coaching to production staff to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations.
  • Drive area and plant performance by setting goals, initiating profit improvement strategies, and leading teams to maximize productivity and contributions across all process areas.
  • Oversee capital projects in collaboration with the central engineering team.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures to protect the well-being of all production employees.
  • Mentor and develop supervisors to build strong leadership capabilities and operational effectiveness.
  • Support safety and environmental initiatives to ensure regulatory compliance and enhance existing company programs.
  • Acknowledge and reward employee achievements that improve productivity, lower costs, and streamline operations.
  • Manage all plant and facility maintenance activities at the Lakeland site.
  • Use the ERP system to support plant operations and decision-making.
  • Serve as a super user of the ERP system, helping to optimize its use for the plant.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal, decision-making, and organizational skills with an emphasis on adaptability, independence, and effective communication.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in high-pressure environments, resolve conflicts, and foster a positive and productive workplace.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to meeting deadlines are key strengths.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in chemical or mechanical engineering, preferred.
  • Plant Manufacturing Environment of 5 years
  • Chemical Manufacturing experience with min of 2 years
  • Lean manufacturing exposure is a plus.
  • Previous Supervisory experience required.
