We’re seeking a Senior Chemist to join our dynamic peptide manufacturing team in Charleston, SC . This is a high-impact role where you’ll lead projects, support GMP readiness, and contribute to the production of high-quality research and therapeutic peptides.

Description of position:

• Lead and execute solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS) projects from start to finish
• Optimize purification techniques (HPLC, prep LC-MS) and ensure high product quality
• Mentor junior chemists and technicians on peptide synthesis and analytical methods
• Collaborate with QA/QC and production teams to support cGMP initiatives
• Troubleshoot complex synthesis issues and propose innovative solutions
• Maintain accurate documentation and batch records in compliance with SOPs and regulatory standards
• Can you detail your experience performing lyophilization (cryodesiccation) specifically with peptide products, including the types of lyophilizers you’ve worked with and your involvement in optimizing or validating lyophilization cycles for peptide stability and recovery? This needs to be answered with resume.

Experience:

• Ph.D. or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field with 7+ years of hands-on peptide synthesis experience (industry preferred)
• Deep knowledge of SPPS , peptide purification, and analytical techniques
• Familiarity with GMP manufacturing and regulatory expectations (preferred)
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
