Job Description

Senior Research Associate, In-Vivo

Position Summary:

Our company is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Research Associate to

drive its discovery research and support its platform and pipeline. The successful

candidate will independently design and execute experiments and present results

internally and externally. Applicants should be outstanding team members and

effectively communicate across internal multi-disciplinary teams, as well as with

external collaborators and CROs. The candidate will need to manage multiple

projects in a fast-paced, data-driven, and results-oriented environment.

Primary responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Collaborate with project leaders on study design and endpoints.
  • Independently conduct small rodent in vivo studies to evaluate and establish efficacy, biomarker identification and analysis, and PK/PD relationships:
  1. dosing through multiple routes, necropsy, blood, and tissue processing and sectioning mouse colony management.
  • Writing and managing IACUC Protocols.
  • Manage CRO interactions across multiple studies.
  • Analyze samples for PK/PD studies using plate- and microscopy-based techniques.
  • Maintain accurate and complete electronic laboratory notebooks in accordance with company policies.
  • Work in a matrixed and dynamic research environment.
  • Record, analyze, and present scientific data to project teams with clear interpretation of results and propose next steps.

Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate must possess scientific details and a strong understanding of pathophysiology of chronic kidney disease.
  • 0-2 PhD, 3+ (MS) or 5+ (BS) years of experience in industry or academia.
  • Extensive small rodent in-vivo experience required, including monitoring, dosing, and tissue/blood collection.
  • Experience with angiogenesis, endothelial cell, renal, cardiovascular, or neurodegenerative disease biology preferred.
  • Surgical experience highly preferred.
  • Experience working with large molecule therapeutics preferred.
  • Experience with histology preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and thorough organization skills.
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently, prioritize, troubleshoot, and bring projects to conclusion.
  • Ability to work independently in a laboratory setting and work collaboratively in a dynamic team setting with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to grow and learn and work across disease areas.
