This position is for a Sterile Processing Technician in an acute care hospital setting. The role involves preparing and sterilizing medical instruments and equipment to ensure they are safe and ready for use in surgical procedures and other medical treatments. The technician will follow established protocols and procedures to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and sterility. The work requires attention to detail, adherence to strict guidelines, and the ability to work effectively within a fast-paced hospital environment.

Responsibilities:
- Preparing and sterilizing medical instruments and equipment according to established protocols.
- Inspecting instruments for damage or defects.
- Cleaning and assembling instruments.
- Operating sterilization equipment, such as autoclaves and sterilizers.
- Maintaining accurate records of sterilization processes.
- Ensuring the proper storage and handling of sterilized instruments.
- Maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
- Following all safety regulations and procedures.
- Performing other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Sterile Processing Technician certification (or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Knowledge of sterilization techniques and procedures.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Previous experience as a sterile processing technician.
- Experience with a variety of sterilization equipment.
- Knowledge of infection control principles.
Special Considerations:
- Five days per week schedule, with 8-10 hour shifts starting at 6:00 AM.
- On-call responsibilities some weekends.
- Return-to-office (RTO) required at time of submission.
- One call-off allowed per two-week pay period.
Scheduling:
- Five days a week.
- Eight or ten-hour shifts.
- Shifts begin at 6:00 AM.
